Disability Support and the Disability Resource Centre

Disabled students make up 18% of the student body here at the University of Cambridge. The Disability Resource Centre offers a confidential and accessible service for all disabled students across the university. For instance, they can help you secure access to assistive technologies, non-medical helpers, diagnostic assessment for learning difficulties and autism spectrum disorder, and mentoring. In addition, every college has a dedicated DRC advisor. DRC also has a neurodiversity team that employs advisers to support students with different neurodiverse conditions such as dyspraxia, ADHD and Autism.

Access

The University of Cambridge has partnered with AccessAble to create a series of site maps that provide accurate information to students, staff and visitors regarding the accessibility of different university buildings and campuses.

The University has also created its own printable maps for three of the university's major sites (the New Museums site, the Downing Site and the Sidgwick Site) and provides information regarding the accessibility of the University's 31 colleges.

SU Disabled Students Campaign

The Disabled Students' Campaign exists to represent and campaign for the rights of disabled students at Cambridge. The Disabled Students' Campaign offers a wealth of resources and student-led support for disabled students at Cambridge, including the Disabled 101 Guide. The campaign offers training in relation to disability provision across the university, curates a disability resource library, and runs socials and events for disabled students.

The Student Union has a specialised Disabled Students Officer to represent the needs of this group within the University.
