College Libraries stock general collections, usually based around the needs of their undergraduates and the research interests of their fellows. The use of each Library's space and collections tends to be for College members only, but you can access many of the special collections available if you contact the Library to make an appointment.
Most Faculties and Departments in Cambridge have their own dedicated subject library. Many will allow members of the University from other Faculties to register and borrow books, though you may wish to call ahead first. You can find a full list of subject libraries and their contact details here.
Material from other Libraries cannot be delivered to the Education Library.
The University Library (UL) is one of the UK's top research libraries and is entitled to claim a copy of every book published in the UK. Members of the University and some visitors are entitled to borrow from the UL. Some materials are held in closed stacks and need to be requested from one of the reading rooms within the Library or, with the exception of special collections (rare books, manuscripts, official publications etc.) online through the iDiscover catalogue.
Material from the UL cannot be delivered to the Education Library.
