The University Library also has an excellent Philosophy collection. Other faculty libraries also cover some areas of Philosophy including, Classics (Ancient Philosophy), The Whipple Library (History and Philosophy of Science), Divinity (Medieval Philosophy, Ethics and Philosophy of Religion) and the POLIS (Politics and International Studies) collection held by the Seeley Library (Political Philosophy).

We purchase books to support teaching and learning in Philosophy and research interests within the faculty, as well as in response to book recommendations.
You can browse a selection of recently purchased books in the library foyer or online (we aim to update this at least once a month).
If there's a book you need for teaching, learning or research which we don't have in the Philosophy Library, you can help us fill the gap by completing our online book suggestion form (University account login required) or contacting us with the details.
If there is a book, journal or academic database you need specifically for advanced academic research, you can ask the University Library to consider purchasing it for their collections by completing their online recommendation form.
