You can either book a Morning or an Afternoon slot on Monday-Friday.
What do I need to know before I arrive?
This service is only available for the Department of Engineering students and staff. You will need your University ID card to enter the library.
Booking can be made on our Online Book a Seat Form. You must book at least 24 hours in advance. Scroll through the form until you find a slot with available spaces. Please cancel your space if you no longer need it.
Please do not arrive before your slot starts and make sure to leave by the end of it.
You are free to leave at any point.
Only the Department of Engineering staff and students with a valid University card will be able to access the Baker Building. Please only come in when you are scheduled to do so.
Please use a face covering at all times when on Department premises. This includes the library, as well as cycle racks, entrances, corridors and toilets, unless you have a medical exemption. The face covering needs to cover the mouth and nose.
Please follow all guidelines advertised in the space and maintain at least two meters distance from other library users
Please enter the Department through the main reception door in the Baker Building. The library is on the first floor next to LT 6 and the Design and Project Office (DPO). Please use this main entrance to enter and exit the library.
You are welcome to use any workspace marked as Morning if you have booked a Morning Slot or Afternoon for an Afternoon slot. Please do not move seats over the course of your slot.
Please use the cleaning materials supplied to wipe down your work surface before you start and when you leave.
There are no group working facilities and we can't offer a social space at this time.
Please do not book a seat if you only need to browse the library shelves. If you only require access to print resources, please do consider the Scan and Deliver service, or Request a book qualtrics form so we can purchase ebooks for you.
