Accessibility

The Cambridge Libraries Accessibility LibGuide is a good general guide to accessibility in Cambridge libraries.

Library accessibility features

  • 1-1 Library inductions
  • Open 24/7.
  • Level access to the Library building. You enter and leave the building via the automatic front door with card access.
  • Lift access to all 5 floors
  • Accessible bathroom on 2nd floor. There is an emergency pull alarm in the room. All toilets are gender-neutral.
  • Non-adjustable standing desk on 3rd floor.
  • 2 docking stations with additional screens.
  • We have a bookable meeting / group study rooms (3rd floor) and a Quiet Pod (returning in September).
  • The self-checkout machine is low enough for use by anyone who uses a wheelchair

How we can support you

  • Extended library loans (28 days instead of 14 days)
  • Waiving of overdue book fines
  • Assistance with locating and carrying books from shelves
  • Assistance to access accessible materials (including e-books)
  • Reserving a desk space (let us know)
  • We're happy to discuss other specific needs, just get in touch.
