To arrange a library induction and register for a library account, please email library@emma.cam.ac.uk.
Students can borrow up to 10 books at a time. The loan period is 14 days for undergraduates and 28 days for postgraduates. A maximum of 2 books can be borrowed from the Short Loan Collection. You can borrow books using the self-service machine in the Library Reception.
You are able to borrow books from Emmanuel College Library, your Department or Faculty libraries, and the University Library. You are not able to borrow from other College libraries. Please contact us if there is a book you need in another College library and we will be able to help you.

The UL is one of six legal deposit libraries in the UK and holds about 9 million items. You are registered automatically with the UL. They offer induction tours to make you familiar with the resources.
Many faculty and department libraries also admit members of the University who are not members of the faculty or department, and you will be able to borrow from some of them.
While college libraries are for the use of college members only, many will be happy to let you visit and consult a resource in person, if you're unable to access it at your own library. It's best to email the librarian in advance and inquire after the book you need.
