Inclusive Teaching and Learning for All Students

Training opportunities from the Libraries Accessibility Service

Every term the Libraries Accessibility Service runs tours of the UL's bookable spaces. We start outside the entrance to the UL and consider barriers to entry, and how we currently mitigate these. We then visit the Assistive Technology Room (with a demonstration of some assistive software), the Group Study Room and the private study rooms. The groups are small and there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions and share experiences.

We also aim to run a Teams-based session on Accessing reading materials in accessible and audio formats twice per year. See slides below.

We have run training sessions for a team on inclusive teaching and learning and organised a library staff edition of Student Mental Health Essentials, a workshop delivered by the Student Support team. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss other useful training.

Our tours and training sessions are usually advertised through Librarians in Training and via all-staff email.

Training and resources by area of work

The Libraries Accessibility Service has compiled a list of training resources by job area (Raven login), as part of our induction offer.

Found a great course or resource? Let us know about it so that we can share it.
