Document Delivery services

If you need to access books, journals, articles or papers, there are several ways you can get hold of them. Please remember that you will be borrowing according to the rules of the lending library so you should always check the relevant library website as the rules may differ across libraries.

Scan and Deliver (with Betty and Gordon Moore Library)

We offer a free scanning service for University of Cambridge staff and students to get remote access to items from the Engineering Library and the Betty and Gordon Moore Library collections.

Intraloans (with Betty and Gordon Moore Library)

We operate an Intraloan service with the Betty and Gordon Moore Library. If you would like a physical item from the Moore's collections, we can collect it for you to pick up at the Engineering Library. Inter Library Loans (beyond Cambridge libraries)

If you need journal articles, conference papers, books, reports or other items that cannot be found in any of the University of Cambridge libraries, we can attempt to obtain a physical or digital copy as an Inter Library Loan. Please note: We are currently unable to provide international Inter Library Loan services. The University Library are able to obtain a wide variety of material from the UK and overseas. See the University Library's Inter Library loans website for more information.

Searching on iDiscover will give you details of holdings in all the different libraries in Cambridge. Often, what you need will be in another library even if we do not have it here. We particularly recommend trying:
