University Careers Service

two person handshakingAlthough most academic skills will be developed as part of your PhD training, you might find it difficult to understand the 'transferability' of your academic experiences to non-academic settings.

To help you identify what skills you need outside of the academic setting and to improve your employability, the University Careers Service  offers a wide range of services, including personal consultations with a careers adviser. These services are tailored to your qualification, meaning that PhD students can benefit from targeted advice at each step of their academic journey.

For more information on what training sessions are available through the Careers Service, check out their website or have a look of the short, to-do-list displayed below.
