Moving with a partner or family

If your partner or other family member/s will be joining you on your journey to Cambridge, it’s important to consider in advance your living arrangements, as not all colleges are able to offer accommodation for families or couples, and in those that can, you’ll often find there is a high demand for these facilities. It’s worth getting in contact with your College’s accommodation office early to see if there is a waiting list.

If you are coming with children, the location of your new home may determine which schools they are able to attend. It is definitely worthwhile researching local schools before you commit to renting or buying a place. For younger children, the University's childcare office runs four nurseries and can advise on private childcare arrangements. Be aware that many nurseries and holiday play schemes are in high demand and have a waiting list.
