Browse & Borrow (10am - 1pm, Monday to Friday)
Book a 20 minute slot to find and borrow books. Because of the time limit, and because the iDiscover computers will be switched off, you might want to bring a list in advance to speed things up or at least a device you can check classmarks on. Don't forget to bring your university card with you.
You don't have to arrive exactly at the start of the session you book, and you can definitely leave before the 20 minutes is up.
Please enter the Raised Faculty Building via the entrance opposite Lady Mitchell Hall. From the entrance, follow the one-way system to the second floor. Turn left at the top of the stairs and enter the library using the door opposite the lift. Press the buzzer to speak to a member of library staff.
Terms and Conditions of Booking
Unless you have a medical exemption, you will be required to wear a face covering at all times in the Philosophy Library. In addition, you should ensure that you are practising social distancing from other library users and regularly sanitise your hands. Finally, you should not come to the library if you are feeling unwell.
Undergraduates can borrow up to 10 items at any one time, staff and postgraduates can borrow up to 20 items. Your loans will automatically renew until the end of your course or the end of your contract, or until someone else recalls an item you have on loan. If one of your books is recalled you will receive an email asking you to return it within 3 days. Books should be returned via the drop box next to Lady Mitchell Hall or the one opposite the English Faculty. Please contact us if you need any help at all finding, borrowing or returning your library books.
