Wifi is available throughout the library via UniOfCam or Eduroam.
To connect to UniOfCam you will need your Raven log-in and password. To connect via Eduroam (which has slightly better coverage in the library) you will need to collect a UIS token. Details on how to do this are available via the University Information Services website. You can also use Eduroam to connect to wifi when visiting any other participating institutions in the UK or abroad.
There are a small number of computers in the Computer Room and by the ASNC books on the first floor. There are also several printers (both colour and black and white), and a photocopier and scanner in the Computer Room. We also have two designated PCs for accessing electronic legal deposit material.
Credit for printing, photocopying and scanning has to be purchased online in advance from the University's DS-Print website.
All University members are automatically registered with the English Faculty Library and can borrow straight away.
Every item in our collection falls into one of three categories:
We normally charge fines of 50p per item per day (excluding weekends), but right now, all fines will be waived unless you have lost a book or DVD. If this happens, please contact us by email to discuss what to do next.
We're very happy for you to recommend books for us to buy. You can tell us how quickly you need the book, and we'll keep you informed about its progress.
Planning a trip to the English Faculty Library but not sure if you can borrow books? Email us at english@lib.cam.ac.uk ahead of time!
Of course you can always stop by the desk when we're open to talk to a friendly member of staff.
Need a friend to pick up books for you? Only have limited time to collect books? The English Faculty Library offers a Click and Collect service! You can register up till midnight the night before collection, and your books will be ready to pick up from the shelf next to the Issue Desk by noon. Contact the library with any questions, or book your Click & Collect here!
Books should be checked out on the library self-issue machine or at the issue desk. (If you are using the Click & Collect service then the books are already issued on your account.)
You should not vandalise the books (e.g. marking the text in pencil).
Please wear a face covering (unless you have a medical exemption) while in the library.
