POLIS (Politics and International Studies): Seeley Library Location

The Seeley Library has moved into a dedicated and newly designed space within the University Library (the UL), until work on the Stirling Building is completed.

From 21 January 2025, the Seeley Library will operate from the West Room inside the University Library on West Road. The space runs alongside the Main Reading Room on the first floor (step-free access is available). The space was specially renovated and designed to house the Seeley Library.

University Library Floor planFloor plan of the University Library shows the that the West Room is located by walking through the entrance, up the stairs, through the catalogue hall and the through the Reading Room until you reach the West Room.

Students using the Seeley Library will need to follow the UL's current bag policy. Bags must be stored in the locker room. Transparent bags can be used to carry items around the UL. They are available free of charge at the Reader Services Desk.

The locker room is accessed via a flight of 6 steps. If you have accessiblity needs which mean you cannot access the locker room and/or you cannot carry a transparent bag then bag tags are from the Reader Services Desk. This tag should be added to your personal bag and will allow you to take your personal bag into the UL. Please note your bag will need to be checked at the exit gate when you leave the UL.
