Zoology: Zoology Department Library

 

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the Zoology Library will remain closed to users until further notice.  For an overview of what services are currently available to members of the University, please visit the Library Services during COVID-19 tab within this guide.

Accessing the library

Opening hours:

Full Term, Christmas and Easter vacations

08:30-17:00, Monday to Thursday

08:30-16:30, Friday

Summer vacation

08:30-16:30, Monday to Thursday

08:30-16:00, Friday

The Library Office is not always staffed. Any reader requiring assistance should contact the Senior Library Assistant before they come to the Library.

Access out of hours is highly restricted - ask the Senior Library Assistant for more information.

Recommend an item

Zoology Library

You can recommend a book or ebook for purchase using our webform.

 

Journals and Electronic Resources

Recommendations for journals and electronic resources can be made to the Zoology Library via email or directly to the main University Library via their Recommendation for Acquisition webpage.

About the Zoology Library

The Zoology Library is an excellent resource for all students and staff and is open to any current member of the University.

The library offers:

  • Over 65 study places with sockets for laptops etc. and wi-fi throughout the area.
  • Colour printing and copying, as well as free scanning, all run via the University's DS-Print system.
  • Two computer terminals providing printing, internet access, Microsoft Office and the statistical programme R. See the library staff to obtain login details for the computers.
  • Inter-library loans for items not available in the University.

How to borrow

All current staff and students of the University are eligible to borrow books from the Zoology Library. The library staff will need to register your University Card before you can borrow.

Borrowing and returning of items is via a self-issue machine outside the Library Office and is available 24/7.
