Given the unpredictable nature of the current COVID-19 global pandemic and its continued impact on daily life across the University, we have this dedicated page to give an overview of what is available to anyone using Cambridge University Libraries services. We will aim to provide regular updates when things inevitably change, such as if a new service is starting up or an existing arrangement has ceased to be necessary.

Click and Collect services allow for current staff and students to request items to be fetched by a member of staff from a library's collections and made available to be collected and borrowed.

You can also browse and borrow items from the Veterinary Library (Years 4-6 and Department members) and Plant Sciences Library (Part II and Department members)
You can now return books to the following departmental Biological Sciences libraries: Biochemistry, Plant Sciences, Psychology, Veterinary, Zoology. Please contact the librarian in advance, if you require further guidance on how to do this.
If you are unable to get to one of these libraries, you can also return your Biological Sciences libraries books to the Moore Library using their dropbox.

Sometimes you just need to talk to someone so you can pick their brain about something that you're working on or trying to figure out. The Biological Sciences Libraries Team are available to talk to you about whatever you need.
We can meet with you in a myriad of different ways so to request 1-2-1 support, please use our online form to tell us what you need help with and how you want to meet with us.

Many libraries across Cambridge are offering a variety of different options to access their study spaces.
Veterinary School Library
Open to Y4-6 veterinary students and department members. First floor study spaces are available to book during core hours.
Plant Sciences Library
The library is open to Part II Plant Sciences students and department members. Please book a study space in advance.
The Moore Library is offering a Book A Seat service for certain areas of the library space. Seats must be booked in advance.
Cambridge University Library
The UL is offering a Book a Visit service where you can book some time to consult non-borrowable or Special Collection items.
Scan and Deliver allows current staff and students to request an individual scanned copy of one chapter of a book or one article per issue of a journal. Printouts of a chapter or article from Electronic Legal Deposit (via designated computers) materials is also possible.
The Biological Sciences Libraries Team offer teaching and support throughout the academic year for everyone from first year undergraduates through to academic researchers. Full details are on the Skills, training and induction tab at the top of this page!
In response to social distancing limitations, we have developed a suite of online resources that are supported by online live sessions.
