Engineering Library: Opening hours and safety measures

Information about the Department of Engineering Library, including information for researchers

Where we are

Opening hours and safety measures

We are now able to offer members of the department access to the library. There is no longer a requirement for readers to book a space and you can enter the library between 9am and 5pm weekdays. If the department has given you card access outside of these times you can use the library beyond these hours and at weekends. We do ask that you do not arrive before 9am to allow us time to adequately ventilate the space before people arrive.

To maintain social distancing, we have limited spaces for people to sit and work, and we ask that you use the anti-bacterial wipes provided to clean your space when you arrive and leave. Hand sanitiser is available on walls and desks. Windows will be kept open throughout the day for ventilation reasons, so we suggest bringing warm clothing as the weather gets cooler. When using the library spaces, unless you are exempt from doing so, you are expected to wear a face covering.

Where possible, please avoid using the library as a corridor, and please do not leave your belongings in a study space whilst you are at lectures or labs.

The measures that have been put in place are there to keep all of us safe.
