The Engineering Data Champions are working together on various projects, including compiling information and resources on data management available around the University, and raising awareness of data management by offering training and organising events, workshops and competitions.

Currently we are running the Research Data Management in Engineering Creative Image Competition, which is open for entries until October - the winning entry will receive a £70 book voucher, with a £40 voucher for the runner up.

We would really like to find out if there are any gaps in knowledge in the Department regarding any aspect of data management which we can help with in any way. Please let us know by emailing data-champions@eng.cam.ac.uk, or contacting one of the Data Champions above directly.

For information about the Data Champions programme across the University, or to become a Data Champion yourself, please see the Data Champions website

Research Data Management in Engineering: Creative Image Competition

The Engineering Data Champions are happy to announce the first Research Data Management in Engineering Creative Image Competition!

Your chance to win a £70 book voucher!

To enter, you will need to depict an aspect of your experiences with managing your research data. Your entry may represent a data management challenge you have overcome, a useful tool or technique that has helped you organise, store or share your data, an interesting story about your experiences of research data management, a creative visualisation of research data policies and requirements, or any similar theme.

Entries can take the form of photographs, artworks, cartoons, infographics, or any other visual representation.

Taking part may help you think about how you manage your research data from a new angle, and join in a wider conversation around the Engineering Department about research data management.

Entries will be voted on by members of the Department, and the winning entry will receive a prize of a £70 book voucher, with a £40 voucher for the runner-up!

Please note the deadline for entries has been extended indefinitely due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Please send your submissions to data-champions@eng.cam.ac.uk.

The Engineering Data Champions Creative Image Competition is open to all members of the Engineering Department, including students, researchers and staff.

Please note that accepted entries will be displayed on the Engineering Data Champions webpages and may also be used for publicity purposes on Department of Engineering and other University of Cambridge websites, social media and printed materials.
