English Faculty Library Services: Browse, borrow, return

Browse, borrow, return

For short trips to the library to do things like browse the shelves and borrow/return books, you don't need to book a time slot. You can borrow up to 12 books, so you may want to plan your visit carefully.

The library is open from 9:30am to 6pm during Michaelmas term. Browsers will not be able to stay in the library outside of these times. Please continue to practice social distancing measures from other patrons and staff, and wear a mask whilst in the Faculty building unless you have a medical exemption.

Don't forget to bring your university card to borrow things! We've made our self-service machines virtually touchless and will provide a limited desk service. If you wish to borrow/return a book, please use the machines on the ground floor.

Once you have returned your items, place them on the trolley next to the terminal. You can also return items to one of the dropboxes on the Sidgwick site: there's one just outside the EFL, and one by Lady Mitchell Hall.

If you would like to stay longer in the library and use a desk space, please Book a Study Space.
