Electronic Legal Deposit

Some electronic items in iDiscover are E-Legal Deposit. These items are part of the legal deposit system where the UL is able to request a copy of every UK print publication. E-Legal Deposit items can be accessed via designated PCs in the UL and in some faculty libraries. The E-Legal Deposit PC in the EFL is in the ground floor computer room. You may print some E-Legal deposit materials, but you will not be able to email or download them.

If an item is E-Legal deposit its iDiscover record will display this message:

While the libraries are closed to users, it is possible to request printouts of material held in E-Legal deposit through the UL's Scan & Deliver services. These printouts can only be requested within UK Copyright limits (1 article/chapter, or 5% of the total work) but can be posted to anywhere in the UK.

Find more information and request material on the UL's website.
